Custom Brick and Stone started in 1989 by Johnny McLaughlin. Johnny spent many years as a laborer in many different masonry outfits after graduating from University of Richmond. After completing his apprenticeship, he decided to start his own business and continue to perfect his masonry trade.

 

After growing the business and actively working the everyday operations, he has since retired. His son, Lee McLaughlin, took over the business in 2022. Lee graduated from Virginia Tech and came home and got right to work with his dad. It had always been a dream of his to take over the family business. Lee worked hand in hand with his father for many years learning the trade and perfecting his masonry skill. Lee may have taken over the family business, but he still carries on the same principles his Dad taught him. He takes pride in his work, cares about his customers, and is always looking at the bigger picture. Custom Brick and Stone has been in business for over 30 years and Lee plans to continue growing the business!

Custom Brick and Stone specialize in many types of masonry work such as footings, brushed concrete,  block work, brick veneer, brick paving, brick walls, structural stone ( heavy rock), stone veneer, flag stone patios and walk ways, retaining  walls, fire places ( indoor and outdoor), stucco, repointing masonry sealing and concrete pavers. Custom Brick and Stone also does repairs on all of the above items.  They have experience in historic restoration and fixing water penetration, be it through brick, or stone on the side of a house, or repairing a leaky chimney.  We are dedicated to providing our clients with quality workmanship and superior customer service.
